U.S. 41 Hatchett Creek Bridge, Venice, Sarasota County, Florida: E.C. Driver prepared preliminary and final design plans for the reconstruction of 3.2 miles of US 41 Business through the city of Venice, Florida. The project included construction of a new four-lane double-leaf bascule bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway at Hatchett Creek. The new bridge is 329 meters long and features continuous variable depth cast-in-place concrete approach spans. A new parallel two-lane bridge was constructed to increase capacity to four lanes. The project included 306 meters of noise walls and 317 meters of MSE retaining walls. Additional services included preparation of roadway and bridge contract documents, permits, utility coordination, and architectural coordination with the City of Venice and post design services during construction.
